Thank you for visiting Team Savannah's 2019 Climb Out of the Darkness page! We are so excited to host this event on yet another hot Savannah morning. ☀️Please join us!

Lake Mayer Community Park
Climb Out of the Darkness is held annually around the globe on or near the longest day of the year to shine the most light on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs). In the US, postpartum depression is the #1 complication of childbirth, 1 in 5 mothers will experience a PMAD, and 1 in 3 mothers of color will experience the same.
Our team and supporters will climb out of the darkness by walking together for these goals:
Last year, we were one of 13 Climbs happening all over Georgia that raised over $20K for maternal mental health awareness and advocacy in our state! Georgia ROCKED IT. This year, our hope is to double that amount – so please consider making a donation!
The Savannah team is associated with our local Georgia chapter of Postpartum Support International so 100% of the funds raised will stay right here in our state. For more information, click here: www.psiga.org
Our local moms and families need to know they have our support.
Please consider joining our team!
The Savannah team welcomes all families regardless of partnership status, family structure, sexual orientation, gender identity, or whether they identify as biological or adoptive.
Please note: we’re sad to report that dogs are not allowed on walking trails at Lake Mayer.
Postpartum Support International's Climb Out of the Darkness is the world's largest event for raising awareness of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, while raising money and building community.
