As most of you know this is a cause near and dear to my heart. It is also deeply personal, having suffered (and currently suffering) from postpartum/perinatal anxiety and ptsd. By participating in this "climb", I am hoping to bring awareness to these conditions and mother's mental health in general. If I had known that there were more perinatal issues out there than just postpartum depression, I perhaps would have recognized my need for help much, much earlier. It is my hope that women and their loved ones become aware of these conditions and no longer have to suffer in silence because they don't know what is happening to them and they don't know there is help available.
