This year 1 in 7 new moms and 1 in 10 dads will develop Postpartum Depression or Postpartum Anxiety disorder. Post Partum Support International's mission is to promote awareness, prevention, and treatment of mental health issues related to childbearing in every country worldwide. This year we are so proud to have organized our first Indiana Chapter which will promote local awareness of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders as well provide training, workshops, and educational materials to local providers, moms and their families.

To support our Indiana Chapter we are organizing and participating in Postpartum Support International's "Climb Out of the Darkness" fundraiser walk. Our Indianapolis walk will be taking place in Carmel at The Village at West Clay from 10am-12pm on August 17th. The honarary 1 mile walk will begin at 10:15am where participants will walk in a group to recognize those who have climbed, or are climbing with Perinatel Mood and Anxiety Disorders. Families are welcome to bring their own seating and picnics to enjoy in the park. We will also have giveaways for participants, food trucks, kids crafts, vendors, a playground, and several local shops and restaurants for families to visit.

Postpartum Support International's Climb Out of the Darkness is the world's largest event for raising awareness of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, while raising money and building community.
