Climb Out of the Darkness is an annual, international fundraiser for Postpartum Support International.

Climb Out of the Darkness is committed to bringing people together, united, to honor the struggle to overcome PMADs (perinatal mood and anxiety disorders). We promote awareness, prevention, and treatment of mental health issues related to childbearing in every country worldwide. We support moms & dads, community programs and healthcare providers.

This year, we’re raising money to benefit Postpartum Support International and Moms Supporting Moms, a local support group for moms with perinatal and postpartum mood disorders. Moms Supporting Moms is part of SAFEchild, an organization that supports families in Wake county in a wide variety of areas. Both PSI and Moms Supporting Moms provide invaluable support and resources to moms and their families as they work to overcome postpartum mood disorders, as well as fighting to defeat the stigma tied to maternal mental illness that prevents so many women from getting the help they need.

We are mothers, survivors, supporters, and providers, climbing together to let all moms know: You are not alone. You are not to blame. With help, you will be well.

Join the team and raise money and awareness!

You can join the team, raise money and pledge to walk by pressing the "Join Team" button in the upper right hand corner. If you raise $100 or more, you win an awesome T-shirt! But, please note: there is no obligation to fundraise. We would love for you to attend and climb with us whether or not you raise money.

EVENT DETAILS:

When: June 22, 2019, from 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Where: Umstead Park Crabtree Shelter #1, 8801 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27617

We will gather starting at 9:30 AM at the shelter to socialize and do some activities, and then the walk (Climb) will begin at 10:30 AM. It is a mile long on a shaded trail that is stroller-friendly. Snacks and water provided!
