Greetings from Team Jersey Shore!

I am so excited to announce the First Annual Climb out of the Darkness for the Jersey Shore Area, benefiting Postpartum Support International New Jersey Chapter, will be on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 9:00a at Bayview Park in Brant Beach, NJ (Tentatively). This event will be hosted by Postpartum to Powerful (formerly Miindful Mamal),a local business whose mission is to help Moms who have experienced PMAD heal and transform through Support Programs.

Our site is set up and ready for registration. We hope you will join us for our First Annual Event.

This year, Team Jersey Shore is raising money for PSI New Jersey, which means 100% of the funds raised by you will stay within the state to help build resources, train providers and support new parents in our local area!

Postpartum Mood and Anxiety Disorders happen to ONE MILLION WOMEN in the US alone each year. Unfortunately, this cause receives very little support, yet these illnesses can have a lifelong impact on the health of both mother and child if untreated, and only 15% of moms get treated.

Postpartum Support International is a registered 501©3 nonprofit organization that is laser-focused on pregnancy and postpartum mental health. We have three key focus areas: raising awareness, providing direct support to pregnant and postpartum families, and training professionals and support group leaders. Your participation means that more parents will get the information and support they need, and healthcare providers will get information that is critical to identifying perinatal mood disorders of all types. 

The event will include free gentle yoga classes, meditations, and speakers about all thing’s motherhood. We will have local businesses owned by Moms represented to offer their products and services to the Maternal Community. There will be activities specifically for children as well.The goal of this event is to come together as a collective of Mothers and those who support them to raise awareness and create connections amongst the community. Each Vendor is asked to offer something that will benefit mothers as a gift the day of the event. We will be handing out bags for the first 100 Mothers to arrive to collect your items.

Remember:

• It is free to register, and you are not making a commitment to attend that day.
• There is no requirement to fundraise. Simply registering as a show of solidarity and sharing the event with others is key. It shows potential sponsors and advocates that we have a lot of people interested in this cause.
• If you do want to fundraise, though, you are eligible to receive cool SWAG like a climber t-shirt.
• You are showing your support and helping to raise awareness for perinatal mood disorders.
• You are able to raise money for Postpartum Support International in their effort to end stigma and let mothers know that they are not alone in their journey
• You get to join our FB group Climb Out of the Darkness- Team Jersey Shore!
