Over two years ago I was crippled by untreated Postpartum Depression and Anxiety. I had great insurance but zero in-network options of doctors or therapists that treated Perinantal Mood and Anxiety disorders. Doctors that I did visit, had no understanding of the severity of what I was experiencing, and didn’t take my concerns or cares seriously. I was lost and I was scared. I feared that I would never find wellness again or return my normal state of self...... Postpartum Support International was the first website I found with resources. I clicked their “get help” link and found their local Advocate Birdie Meyer. PSI and Birdie found me the help I needed and LITERALLY saved my life.
This year I am proud to again be organizing and participating in Postpartum Support International’s Climb Out of the Darkness fundraiser walk. This years climb will again be supporting our Indiana Chapter which will be raising funds to provide training and resources on PMADS to local health care providers, mothers and their families.
