I'm so excited to be a board memeber for Postpartum Support International - Iowa Chapter. It's mission is very important to me, both professionally and personally. I have been a clinical therapst working with individuals and families for 8 years. After my own personal journey with postpartum anxiety in 2013, I made it my professional mission to become trained, through PSI, so that I could best counsel other pregnant and postpartum moms experiencing a perinatal mood and/or anxiety disorder. Since my training, I have educated nurses and phsycians at local hospitals and clinics and have facilitated a weekly support group for pregnant and postpartum moms for over 5 years. 

On June 22, 2019 we are holding our first Climb Out of the Darkness event in Des Moines to raise awareness of perinatal mental illness, including pregnancy and postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD, psychosis and post-traumatic stress. Please consider joining our team and walking with us on June 22 or making a financial contribution of any size. All monies will be put towards increasing awarness, education and support for moms and their families across the state of Iowa.
